The Team

The people that make up Sam's Far West Coast Fishing Tours have a vast amount of experience across many facets of the industry from being to able to supply fresh and delicious food right through to driving a charter vessel in sometimes dangerous waters. With this knowledge and experience, the team is dedicated to providing an enjoyable and memorable total fishing adventure in one of the remotest coastal locations in South Australia.

Steve Wade is the owner and manager of Sam's Far West Coast Fishing Tours. Steve has been fishing recreationally for more than 35 years (more than 25 of them on the Eyre Peninsula) and has an extensive knowledge of fish species and methods required to land the best ones. Steve's wife and (5) kids live in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

Steve spent many years in the bush until finally settling on a career in IT spending time as a computer tech and as a store manager before finishing his IT career after 7 years as a TAFE lecturer.

Steve began managing Sam's Far West Coast Fishing Tours after the previous owner retired in October 2006 before buying the business in February 2007.

Steve's role is a little of everything - from cooking to cleaning to logistics, support, maintenance, management, web design, accounts, marketing... Generally speaking, Steve's job is to keep the staff happy and make sure it's all ticking over sweetly so you get the best fishing adventure possible out of your hard earnt!

And yes, Steve goes fishing as often as possible, even on his days off - is there such a thing?!

Carl Wade is the eldest son of Steve and is responsible for a range of tasks that includes cooking and support. Carl is also a student undertaking high school studies using Open Access College.

For extra cash, Carl will tie and sell you premade fishing rigs so that you can sit back and enjoy your fishing holiday without any of the fuss!

Carl is a keen fisher and loves chasing big salmon on the beaches around Fowlers Bay.

Mouse - the team member who ensures you get to Fowlers Bay to go fishing!

Michelle Wade (Steve's wife) is the voice you'll hear on the phone when making enquiries and bookings for Sam's Far West Coast Fishing Tours.

Mouse spends a large part of her time looking after 4 kids but somehow manages to keep the massive number of supplies up to date ready for each tour as well as ensuring all the bookings are made and managed properly.
